All-round West Country barm pot carmaker Ariel has decided that its flyweight Atom needs a windscreen.
It's a bit of a drop in the ocean kinda measure, as the sides and roof are still completely exposed to the elements.
Still, after being hit in the head by a stone while passengering in an Atom I can testify that the screen is probably wise for on-road hoonage.
The screen took a whole year to develop too, as it includes a wiper and its mechanism, screen washer and switchgear. Best of all, it can also be detached by releasing five clips and a quick release electrical connector so you can still enjoy the full wind in the face motoring experience the Atom is famous for.
And with the screen in place, it’s all the better for listening to the Darth Vader-esque induction noise for the supercharger behind your head too.
