Porsche Cayman S Sport Coming

We've just got wind of the possiblity that Porsche is planning a 60th birthday present to itself.

So that Porsche can see out the last few Cayman bodyshells before the facelifted car arrives, a special S Sport version will be produced. Apparently it'll cost about £47k and feature a two-tone colour scheme inspired by the 911 GT3, complete with stickers down the side with coordinating wheels.

Details are super scarce about the car, but it will happen and happen soon. Don't expect wild power upgrades - the price increase is only an extra couple of grand more than the normal S - but stuff like sports chrono packs, limited colours and tweaks to brakes and suspension and maybe a few extra bhps is likely to happen.

Sounds pretty exciting too.

  • What I really like about the Cyaman is its speed and comfort in the ride.. and also it can compete with other cars when it comes to engine performance and some tundra parts installed. Still be looking forward to the Cayman S Sport! .

  • Strong words indeed... and I am inclined to agree that the Cayman should be let of the leash good and proper. It's just a shame that you have to go to an aftermarket tuner to get the car it should always have been.

  • What Porsche needs to do is put a bigger engine in the Cayman. Cut it out with the 911 Horsepower Protection Program. If the 911 is so weak that putting a +0.2L engine in the Cayman will kill it, then let it retire to that junkyard in the sky where legendary cars go after they've been surpassed by time and technology. These piddling little cosmetic-only changes and token +25HP bumps are just plain insulting. Porsche customers deserve better from Porsche AG. And if Porsche AG won't give it to us, then I call for an Internet Boycott of all things Porsche.
