I think it's fair to say that the
Nürburgring is starting to feel the
effects of every manufacturer under the sun
quoting its latest fastest time around the
legendary Nordschleife.
If you head on over to the 8200rpm
site - it hosts a webcam which is located at
the entrance to the tolls and updates every
minute - you can see what I'm on about.
Over the last weekend, which I think was
some kind of bank holiday in Germany, the
Touristenfahrten looks like it was totally
rammed for the whole time that the 'Ring was
open.
While it might be the ultimate
benchmark for a manufacturer, and ultimate
thrill ride for drivers sick of increasingly
intensely restricted roads, it would seem
that the 'Ring is quickly becoming a victim
of its own success. Boo.
That
said, there are still fun times to be had if
you’re a big manufacturer and can
afford to bag the track for yourself.
