Looks like it's finally time for
Audi to fess up and admit that the R8 is
going to get V10 power. Some
eagle-eyed tipster has sent in pics of the
10 cylinder version to Jalopnik.
There's no room for the
turbos, so the engine from the RS6 is a no
go.
Instead, the 5.2-litre lump
from the Gallardo will be fitted to the new
car in naturally aspirated form.
You can tell that the new car
definitely has a couple of extra cylinders
if you compare the two engine bays, just
like I have below:

As well as the engine mods,
the mule has V12 TDI-style bumpers,
different exhaust tips – which I hope
are big fat oval ones like on the RS4
– and more scoopy sideblades to force
air into the new engine.
So now, not only does the R8 look brilliant, it goes even faster and sounds even better. In your face established supercar makers, in your face.
